FREE PRACTICE ACT OR SAT TESTS
The Princeton Review offers free practice SAT and ACT tests at Pima County Public Libraries. Students can see how they will fare on the SAT or ACT by taking a proctored, simulated practice test. They will return a few days later to do the follow-up Strategy Session, at which time they will receive their scores and learn more about the tests from a trained, experienced Princeton Review Instructor. For events and schedules, go to http://www.princetonreview.com/events. This information is provided as a service to our students and parents, and is not to be construed as an endorsement for the Princeton Review and their products.
Advanced Placement (AP) classes
We at THMS are proud to offer six Advanced Placement (AP) classes. These AP classes are very rigorous and utilize a standard curriculum which is considered college level work. Students in these classes are strongly encouraged to take the AP exam at the end of the year, and may receive college credit depending on their score and college choice. AP scores range from 1-5. Colleges grant varied levels of credit depending on the score. Usually, scores of 3 or better are granted credit. Colleges look favorably on admitting students who have challenged themselves with the rigor of AP classes. There is also a strong correlation between the number of AP classes a student takes in high school and their success in college. AP exams are administered by College Board and information about them is available on the College Board website at www.collegeboard.com.
