Writing 101 at THMS -Dual Enrollment
THMS students have the ability to take a 3 credit class that can tansfer to to any Arizona Public University. Writing 101 is a semester class that is taught as a year long class on campus. This will count as your high school English (Junior or Senior English) class and as 3 college credits.
In order to be in this class next year, you have to complete the follow steps:
1. Complete the on-line Pima Community College application -Click the Button Above
2. Once the application is complete, take a photo ID to a PCC Assessment Center and take the placement test in writing, reading and math. Students have to pass into WRT 101, Math 086/89 (Pre-Algebra) and Reading 091 (College Reading). Sample questions are available on the Pima website, www.pima.edu under assessment.
3. Turn in your placement results to Ms. Ronsman in the counseling office or Ms. Slaine in V208 by May 3.. If you have any questions about the Tucson High dual enrollment program, please contact Ms. Ronsman in the counseling office at [email protected], [email protected] or Ms. Slaine at [email protected].

Pima to U of A Transfer
Requirements: Arizona residents under age 22 may be admitted with both of the following: · Cumulative recalculated resident GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in a minimum of 24 transferable semester credits completed at time of application
· No more than one course work deficiency in two subject competency areas satisfied with high school and/or college work and not in both math and lab science
Steps to gain entrance at U of A:
In order to attend the University of Arizona, you must complete the official admissions process. When you submit a complete transfer application you are considered for admission, scholarships and admission to The Honors College.
1. Complete the University of Arizona official Admission Application. The application can be completed online. You may also download a paper application or submit a request to have an application sent to you via mail.

2. Submit official copies of transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. Students whose names have changed should ensure their current name is included on all transcripts.

3. Pay the $50 (Arizona resident) or $65 (non-Arizona resident) processing fee, or submit a waiver. This fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
4.****Some colleges within the University require additional information, action or have additional requirements. (Nursing, engineering, etc.) so check with the college you intend to apply for.
